Editor’s Note: At our recent annual HOA members’ meeting, discussion ensued about the possible installation of speed bumps on Seven Isles Drive. There were homeowners who both support and do not support this idea. Below is one homeowner’s opinion. Readers can submit opinions about potential actions impacting our community via this newsletter at any time.

Dear Board Members and Homeowners,
First of all , Elke and I want to thank you all for the opportunity to join you for our annual Homeowners Meeting . It was wonderful to come closer, meet and be introduced to more of our valued neighbors.
Besides all the great information we got and the fabulous support of the city of Fort Lauderdale, I love to invest all our energies to make our Seven Isles the best place to live.

The one and only way and spirit to stand together is to see every neighbor as our part of our larger Seven Isles family, honoring each neighbor’s personal space and free space with respect and tolerance.
When this is not sufficient to solve a problem or uncomfortable situation, then let us speak with our neighbors as part of our Seven Isles family. This spirit should be the full established behavior and attitude of all our neighborhood.

In this way , to our “Race Guys” living here, we need to speak to them, remind them with signage, and find other positive ways to slow down our drivers in the neighborhood, not with rules , not with blaming and, please, for sure not with any kind of speed pumps. Speed bumps would take away for everyone the comfort of gliding over our nice bridges and roads smoothly. Sevens Isles should be the nicest, best, cleanest, and most comfortable Isles , and not a bumpy ugly road, like an outdoor way in the prairie.

We want our Seven Isles neighbors to enjoy driving their beloved Ferraris , white Lambos , and black Bentleys without any bumps, but in a way that is safe so our pedestrians and dogs aren’t in danger. This letter tries to explain that there are ways to address the speeding problem with better communication to ensure that we all take care of each other and our Isles that we all are proud about.
Elke and I are most thankful and proud homeowners here in Seven Isles to have all of you as our neighbors.

Thank you so much,
Oliver Treutlein
