One of the biggest reasons we have unparalleled security and safety in Seven Isles is because of the governance of our Homeowners’ Association, whose primary duty is to protect and uphold the safety and well being of our Seven Isles community. This is made possible by 12 volunteer board members representing all the streets in Seven Isles as well as members-at-large, who work together to oversee our security company, security equipment, guard house, and common areas. Each February at the general membership meeting, HOA members vote for a slate of candidates to lead our HOA.
Under the leadership of our Vice President Bob Lietz, the current board of directors are gathering names of candidates who have volunteered to be on the slate for ratification at the February 2022 meeting. Once the 12 board members are ratified by a vote at the general meeting, the board then appoints 4 officers willing to assume these roles.
Volunteering does not take much time at all, and board members are rewarded with great friendships and camaraderie. The Board meets only 5 times a year for 1 – 1.5 hours each, and does not convene over the summer months. Any necessary communications between meetings typically occur via email or text, since many board members are working. The goal is to run meetings and communications with efficiency, since everyone is busy, but to ensure we stay on top of any concerns and issues so that our community remains the most coveted place to live in the Isles.
Board member candidates must be paid HOA members. There are 8 street representative positions, and each street representative must live on his/her street. There are 4 at-large representatives who represent the general community. Please consider adding your name to the slate of candidates for the 2022 board. We have been so blessed to have such a great board, but some of our board members have served a long time and would like to see fresh faces and ideas.
