Dear Seven Isles Neighbors,

Our daily routines have become unprecedented as we personally and professionally balance health, social, psychological, economic, and other threats impacting our lives amidst the COVID-19 epidemic. While there are many challenges, we are also blessed to live in an area where safety and security assist our self-isolation efforts. The volunteer efforts to sustain the general welfare, safety, and well-being of our residential neighborhood are carried out by the Seven Isles Homeowners Association Board of Directors.

The new Board of Directors took office this month, following our annual meeting at the Riverside Hotel in February. The purpose of the Board and the Association is to promote the general welfare, security, and well-being of our residential neighborhood.

The 2020-2021 Board of Directors are as follows, and their contact information is listed on our webpage: https://sevenisleshoa.com/board-members/

Kathleen Moreo, President
Bob Lietz, Vice President
Carol Mashek, Secretary
Debbie Fitzgerald, Treasurer
Howard Steinholz, Past President and DeSota Drive Street Representative
Mark Conroy, Aqua Vista Street Representative
John Fitzgerald, Barcelona Drive Street Representative
Alex Spector, Pelican Drive Street Representative
Gerd Woort-Menker, Del Mar Place Street Representative
Donna Zalter, Sea Island Drive Street Representative

Among questions and concerns raised during the Annual Meeting of the homeowners association, homeowners asked for additional diligence by our security guards. The new Board promptly addressed these issues with Admiral Security, who has reported that the following enhancements have been initiated:

  • Guards will no longer patrol while sitting in stationary vehicles. Guards will perform surveillance from the guardhouse, utilizing our new, enhanced security equipment. Guards will also patrol all streets, engaging pre-set, routine patrolling schedules that further deter crime.
  • Speed concerns while in patrol cars have been addressed.
  • Guards have participated in a staff training to maximize the surveillance system.
  • Monthly reports will be provided to the Board of Directors by Admiral.

Inasmuch as our security guards enhance the safety and security of our neighborhood, each of us can also be a steward. If you see something, say something. Also get to know our guards. They perform an often thankless job and appreciate a personal hello or a deserved thank you from time to time. Likewise, our off-duty police officer, Aaron Purdue, provides a formidable presence in our neighborhood during particularly high traffic times, such as on weekends when many open houses may be occurring. Aaron provides the Board with a monthly report and is always ready to assist in improving our security.

To all our volunteer members of the Seven Isles HOA, thank you for supporting our vital mission. There are still some homeowners with 2019 reflective stickers on your Seven Isles lawn signs — that means your dues aren’t current! It’s easy to forget, but our fees to our security company and off-duty police officer still need to be paid on time. For those of you who aren’t supporting the Seven Isles HOA, please do! You are already benefiting every day and should participate in covering the costs. Information is available at: https://sevenisleshoa.com/become-a-member

Sincerely,
Kathleen Moreo, President
