The Seven Isles Homeowners Association is appreciative of all the volunteers who make our association possible, and through which we all benefit from one the safest, most beautiful, most desirable communities in Fort Lauderdale. Thank you to the following 2022 volunteers for all your hard work in the HOA:

Shepard Edelstein, Webmaster
Shepard has faithfully served as our incredibly talented Webmaster since 2017, having responsibility for both our robust website as well as formatting and sending our monthly newsletter. If you are in need of a web designer, developer, or administrator for your company or association, Shep comes highly recommended by the Seven Isles HOA. Shep moved out of Seven Isles in 2021, but continues to serve our needs, which demonstrates his amazing work ethic.

Debbie Fitzgerald, President Pro Tempore
Debbie has served on the board as Treasurer for the last few years and currently as President Pro Tempore as well as Barcelona Street Representative. Debbie has a keen sense of fiscal responsibility and has much to increase our HOA reserves while maximizing services related to our common grounds and our security services.

Donna Zalter, Secretary/Treasurer
Donna has served as an officer of the Board for the past three years as well as Sea Island Street Representative. She is currently Secretary and Treasurer of the HOA. A real estate professional by background, Donna is always thinking about ways to improve the value of our homes and maintain our great neighborhood.

Carol Mashek, Member-at-Large
A familiar face in Seven Isles, Carol has served both as a street representative and as an officer of the HOA for many, many years. She has been involved in negotiating with our various vendors and helping grow the HOA. Carol currently serves as a Member-at-Large and lives on Seven Isles Drive.

Alex Spektor, Pelican Isle Street Representative
Another long-time HOA Board member, Alex Spektor makes it a point to get to know his neighbors on Pelican Isle so that he can best represent the needs and concerns of his street. As the current street representative of Pelican Isle, he can often be found listening to and conversing with neighbors.

Fred Brodsky, Seven Isles Street Representative
Fred Brodsky joined the Seven Isles HOA in 2022 and has since been actively involved in meeting with city officials as well as neighboring HOAs to represent the interests of Seven Isles related to the Las Olas Mobility Project. Fred has a prolific background in international business and finance and is perhaps best known as a book author. In addition to serving as street representative of Seven Isles Drive, Fred Chairs our policy outreach task force.

Gloria Gebbia, DeSoto Street Representative
Gloria also joined the Seven Isles HOA in 2022 with a goal to bring fresh ideas and have representation for all neighbors of DeSota Drive and DeSota Terrace. She is a business leader, entrepreneur, and philanthropist in the Fort Lauderdale area and currently serves as street representative of the DeSota streets.

Recently Retiring Board Members

Kirsten Uebrig, former President
Kirsten assumed presidency in 2022 and, prior to this time, served as a Member-at-Large as well as Chair of the Social Outreach committee. With a move from Seven Isles a few months ago, she reluctantly submitted her resignation. Kirsten has planned and led many initiatives in Seven isles including the Halloween parade, Fall/Halloween decorating contests, and the Holiday of Lights contests. She also chaired our Welcoming Committee and was responsible to coordinate with local vendors to procure items she used in creating welcome kits for new residents.

Bob Lietz, former Vice President
A long-time resident of Castilla Isle, Bob has served for many years on the Seven Isles HOA. Although he will not be on the 2023 Board, Bob has continued to offer support and historical perspective to assist new and existing board members in making prudent decisions. He was instrumental in the selection of the current security company, and for many years was involved in the initial bid by Seven Isles to procure future undergrounding of our utilities with the City of Fort Lauderdale.

Kathleen Moreo, Past President
Kathleen served as Seven Isles HOA President for 2 years from 2020-2022, and as Past President in 2022. She has also authored our Seven Isles Newsletter for the past 4 years, and served as a street representative for Delmar Place for 2 years, as well as a member-at-large. Under Kathleen’s presidency, the HOA hired a new security company; installed new security equipment; cleaned and painted all our bridges; negotiated new insurance policies; and re-ignited our bid with the City for underground utilities.

Gerd Woort-Menker, Delmar Place Street Representative
Gerd has served as a street representative for Delmar for the past 3 years, having just stepped down this month, as he will be moving out of Seven Isles in February. Gerd was well known to the residents of Delmar Place and was instrumental in the increase of Delmar residents who became active HOA members. With a background in business and finance, Gerd always asked the tough questions and looked out for the best interests of Seven Isles.
