Our Seven Isles Homeowners Association (HOA) plays a vital role in the safety and good will of Seven Isles by overseeing our security services and our guardhouse, as well as ensuring the upkeep and beauty of our common grounds. This oversight also includes maintaining the well being of our community, such as ensuring we receive the best value and coverages for our insurance policies; routinely reviewing our vendors; publishing our monthly community newsletter to keep neighbors connected; and monitoring city governmental issues that can impact our community in the short-term as well as the long-term.

Recently, this last responsibility – monitoring city governmental issues — has occupied a good portion of our work, as we have been actively working with the City to explore undergrounding of all our utilities, and we have been involved since 2017 in City-run meetings to explore major changes to Las Olas Boulevard.

Additionally, the HOA has worked closely with the City’s Code Compliance team to thwart issues involving short-term rentals, noise complaints, boat live-aboards, and other infractions that have affected our neighbors and our community at-large. Recently, we have also worked with the City to clean our sidewalks, improve our garbage services, and paint our bridges.

Through voluntary service, our HOA board members have been the heartbeat of our community, and we need you to help us maintain an excellent neighborhood in which to work and play. It’s time for new board members! By the end of the year, the HOA will prepare a slate of candidates to serve as Board members for 2023. After two publications of the volunteer candidates, HOA members will vote on the new board at the annual meeting in February.

No special skills are required beyond what you already have…..a desire to ensure the safety, good will, and well being of our community for all who reside here. Each street is entitled to one representative to the Board. Additionally, there are up to 5 member-at-large positions available for a total of 13 board positions.

Time commitment is limited, as we only meet five times a year via Zoom, and meet in person for our annual meeting. Any other necessary business is conducted electronically, so involvement does not impact personal or business plans.
