We hope and trust you’ve had an enjoyable Memorial Day Weekend. This is our last board message for the summer, and we look forward to speaking again in September. It has been a very busy 2019 for our city in general and our community in particular.
Seven Isles HOA Board Election
The board of directors met on May 8, 2019 to go over HOA business items of interest, and elect directors for 2019. Received ballots were tallied and the following members were elected:
- Howard Steinholz President – Barcelona
- Bob Lietz Vice President – Castilla
- Carol Mashek Secretary – Seven Isles
- Debbie Fitzgerald Treasurer – Barcelona
- Mark Conroy Member At Large – Aqua Vista
- John Fitzgerald Member At Large – Barcelona
- Kathleen Moreo Member At Large – Del Mar
- Donna Zalter Member At Large – Sea Island
Once the votes were tallied and board members were elected, the new board caucused and elected officers as indicated above.
Ring – Seven Isles User Group
There are so many homes in our community that have installed “Ring” doorbell and camera products along with the mobile app. We’re currently exploring the possibility and interest in setting up a user group for Seven Isles HOA members such that we receive specific alerts relevant to our community in addition to, or in lieu of, the general area alerts we would typically receive.
If you have a Ring product installed in your home, please visit our website at sevenisleshoa.com/ring to give us your opinion on this initiative and hopefully indicate your interest in the Seven Isles User Group.
(For avoidance of doubt, this isn’t an endorsement of Ring products by the Seven Isles HOA Board.)
State of HOA Membership
Seven Isles continues to be the safest community in Fort Lauderdale. We are the only community in our area that has 24×7 security services provided by Admiral Security. All made possible through your membership dues that are paid into the Security Fund, which is also used for the uniformed FLPD Officer assigned to Seven Isles.
The total number of members belonging to a community: Seven Isles has 308 homes, of which 210 are active members! This number fluctuates based on a number of factors. Your continued support is appreciated. Engage with your neighbors if you notice they’re non-members and encourage them to join.
If you’re not a member, please join us as we work to make Seven Isles an even more special place to live! You can become a member as follows:
- Online at sevenisleshoa.com/become-a-member. You can also pay your dues on our website, OR
- Fill out the membership application included in the “Print” Newsletter and drop it off with a check in an envelope with an Admiral Security Officer at the guard house, or send it directly to RUPP Associates.
Committees – Volunteers Needed
As had been mentioned in a prior message, The Seven Isles Board, The Halloween Parade Organizing Team, Our Webmaster Team, are all volunteers most of whom have full time jobs. Their time, efforts, and dedication are greatly appreciated. We’re always looking for additional volunteers to join the HOA board, as well as the committees we’re setting up:
- Social & Fun
- Beautification
- Safety & Security
- Code Compliance / Violations
Here’s wishing you a wonderful and safe Summer!
